The 2023 2.2 for 22 Virtual Challenge

Our annual 2.2 for 22 Challenge for Veterans will be held virtually for the first 20 days of the event beginning on October 1st, 2023, followed by an in-person closing event at the Las Positas College Track and Field on October 21, 2023 from 9 am to 12 pm.
The primary goal of the 2.2 for 22 event is to raise awareness about the distressing fact that 22 veterans succumb to suicide each day. While the event initially focused on engaging the Las Positas College community and the local area, it became evident last year that the message resonated well beyond these boundaries. Participants from various parts of the United States and even service members stationed as far away as Afghanistan took part in the event. Notable sponsors for the event included the Safeway Foundation and the Rotary Foundation.

BFFHeroes will be hosting a mini Murph challenge at the all-day Saturday event on October 21, 2023 at Las Positas College.

BFFHeroes has assembled a team for this year’s 2.2 for 22 Challenge for Veterans. Check out our team’s progress HERE. The 2.2 For 22 strives to raise awareness around an unsettling reality, 22 veterans are lost to suicide every day. While the event has focused its awareness on engaging the Las Positas College community and immediate local community, last year’s event proved that our message resonated far beyond our local area. Participation from last year’s event included folks from around the United States and service members stationed as far away as Afghanistan. Sponsors for the event included national brands like Carl’s Jr, Jamba Juice, and the Safeway Foundation.
